Welcome to ‘ovariancolorado.org’ in its revised and updated format. The goal of this website is to provide awareness about the risks and symptoms of ovarian cancer and to share current information and resources for further investigation of this disease.
The site is divided into three sections, ‘Public,’ ‘Provider,’ and ‘Patient.’ The ‘Public’ section contains basic information about ovarian cancer facts, risks, and symptoms. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of knowing family history and partnering with your health care provider when there are concerns about physical health.
The ‘Provider’ section goes into more depth, adding case studies, providing additional information on genetics and offering CME’s. It also includes short sections on diagnosis and treatment of the disease.
The ‘Patient’ section addresses issues of treatment and side effects, clinical trials, and touches on some of the emotional aspects of being diagnosed with cancer. Additionally, a complementary therapy is introduced each month as a way to offer more tools for the patient to explore in her journey with cancer.
Each of the sections features stories from survivors in the hope that those stories will illuminate both the similarities and the variety of symptoms that can manifest in the women who are diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
